Episode Three: The Lady of the Lake

This week we drove out to the world's stinkiest body of water: Utah's Great Salt Lake. What we found, though, with the help of Jaimi Butler (of the Great Salt Lake Institute at Westminster College),  is a beautiful, rich, and strange ecosystem literally buzzing with life. We chatted about the cultural significance of the lake, what a changed climate will mean for the lake, and being a woman in the brine shrimp industry. Thanks, Jaimi!

Special thanks to guest producer Hannah Smay, who made the trek with us.

*** The name for this episode was inspired by a poster presented by Chloe L. Fender, Emily G. Calhoun, and Dr Bonnie Baxter, which examines the contributions and representation of women in GSL science.
